Adaptations to TNG by Ian Fettes
This site incorporates a number of changes to the excellent TNG standard software. These changes comprise custom additions to forms and tables that are only applicable to this site plus other changes implemented via the Mod Manager. Some of the latter are standard changes provided by others and are shown in the listing below.
Custom Changes
| Full text search | This change incorporates the addition of full text indices to several TNG tables to allow very fast searching on names, notes, locations and occupations. When in use from home screen, user can enter any combination of honorific, first name, last name, title or 'known as'. Words must be entered in full, although part names are OK. Search will be made on ALL words over three characters. Can then use advanced name or advanced text facilities to refine the search if required. | |
| Selected ancestral portraits | A manually compiled list of selected people to provide quick access to their portraits. | |
| Prominent people links | A manually compiled list of prominent people to provide quick access to their details. | |
| Historic battle participants | A manually compiled list of the fallen and survivors of Agincourt, Flodden and Pinkie as recorded in the database with information on the number of descent paths to selected interesting people. | |

| Male, female and parent lines | Adds a Male Lines menu option to the text descendant menu that shows only the male descendants and a Female lines to the text descendant menu that shows only the female descendants.
