- BIOGRAPHY
Roubaud was the elder of two sons of Boso II, comte d'Avignon et Arles, and Constance de Provence. He was the count of Provence from 968 to his death and margrave from 993. His younger brother Guillaume II took the title of _marchio_ in 979 and that of _dux_ later. Roubaud ruled with Guillaume, probably jointly, over the whole county. On Guillaume's death, Roubaud was left as head of the family with the title of _marchio._
With his wife Eimildis he had a son Roubaud III who would succeed him, and two daughters Eimildis and Tetberga. Roubaud III and Tetberga would have progeny; she married Armengol I, conde de Urgel. Roubaud first signed a charter of his father in March 965. He signed his brother's donation to the abbey of Saint Victor de Marseilles in April 970 and to Cluny on 28 August 990. In 1005 he joined with his sister-in-law Adelaide dite Blanche d'Anjou and his nephew Guillaume III to grant privileges to the abbey of Saint Victor.
Roubaud died about 1008.
